The State of Florida only has a few remaining Dog-Friendly Beaches in the entire state and the Town of Jupiter is proud to have one of them.  Jupiter Beach is doggone-friendly! In 1989, the town adopted the policy to allow dogs to play on the beach.  Since then, the stretch of sand where dogs are permitted has grown to 2.5 miles long. The Dog-Friendly Beach area stretches from Carlin Park at Beach Marker #57 to Marcinski Road at Beach Marker #25. In this designated area, dogs are allowed to play freely while being supervised by their owners.

Pet owners are requested to abide by the Town of Jupiter simple rule's simple rules to maintain the dog-friendly beach.

The Kennedy Bunker, also known as the Detachment Hotel, is the name given to the bunker complex on Peanut Island. The bunker, which is located on the tiny island just south of Palm Beach, refers to the small 1,500-square-foot complex originally designed for use by John F. Kennedy, the President of the United States, in the event of a nuclear war.

The decision to construct a presidential bunker in South Florida was driven by the location of a Kennedy family home in Palm Beach. In the event of a nuclear attack, then-President John Kennedy could be evacuated to the bunker site from Palm Beach via helicopter in less than five minutes.
