The arts in Boca Raton have been supported by the Boca Raton Cultural Consortium.  The cultural association was organized in 1999.  Their mission has been to raise the public’s awareness of the quality, diversity, and impact of arts and cultural programs in the community.

Art, in its broadest meaning, is the expression of creativity or imagination. Art is the creative expression of one’s experiences, emotions, and other qualities. Art is one aspect of culture. Major elements of the arts include performing arts, visual arts, literary arts, and culinary arts. Some art forms combine a visual element with performance, or artwork with the written word and it can all be found in Boca Raton through the cultural consortium.

This May, Downtown Palm Beach Gardens is hosting several outdoor concert on Friday and Saturday nights. The outdoor concerts are free to attend, and all are welcomed.

The bands performing feature a diverse lineup of local and regional bands playing all genres of music. The concerts take place in the Centre Court of the outdoor shopping and lifestyle center.

Before or after the concert stop by one of the several restaurants to grab something to eat and drink. Restaurants located with Downtown Palm Beach Gardens include Avocado Cantina, Fro Yotopia, The Cheesecake Factory, The Yard House, Grimaldi’s Coal Brick Oven Pizzeria, Sloan’s Ice Cream, Le Bouchon, Texas de Brazil, and Voodoo Bayou.

Lighthouse ArtCenter Gallery, located at 373 Tequesta Drive in the quaint seaside Village of Tequesta, rouses the senses with fabric/textile exhibition entitled “Stitched” through May 27, 2021.  The exhibit is an exhibition commemorating the art of textiles.

Various collections from textile artists will be on display including Kirk Ke Wang’s, “Landscape of Human Skins.” Ke Wang’s work incorporates abandoned pieces of clothing, or as he refers, “skins”.  He incorporates clothing left behind by civilization through a succession of large-scaled colorful, mixed media collages. Registration is now open for the 10th Annual Run 4 The Sea. The 2021 Run 4 The Sea will be going virtual this year. The run is a 4-mile timed race and a kid’s 1-miler at any location of your choosing with proceeds benefiting the Loggerhead Marinelife Center.

The 10th Annual Run 4 The Sea is open to all walkers, runner, and hikers of all ages. The race is set to take place on the weekend of Saturday, June 19th. The race costs $40 dollars for adults and $20 dollars for kids. The price includes a sports style participant t-shirt, a custom finisher medal, and a race bib that will be mailed. This week is the final week to get to experience the Out of this World Exhibit at The Gardens Mall. For the past several weeks, The Gardens Mall in partnership with the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex has brought an interactive and imagination filled journey through outer space.

The exhibit has taken over a store front on the lower level of the Gardens Mall near Saks Fifth Avenue. Those who wish to participate can experience a journey among the stars from the surface of the moon to the mission on Mars. Guests will even be able to interact and wonder through a space station to a space capsule and will be able to name a star at the end of the adventure.

On select Saturday and Sundays of every month, the River Center in Jupiter teams up with the US Coast Guard Auxiliary “Flotilla 52” to provide a series of Boating Safety Courses. The course is targeted towards young boaters in our community, but all are welcomed to attend and learn about the safety on the water.

The River Center is hosting Boater Safety Course this Saturday and Sunday. The class will be completely virtual and taught in a lecture-style class. The class is free to attend but a $10 dollar deposit is required to reserve a spot. The deposit will be returned at the end of the class. Once the two-day virtual class is completed and the exam taken, the young boaters will receive their Florida Boater Safety Identification card that can be used…

Grandview Public Market, in the Warehouse District of West Palm Beach, is presenting FREE performances this summer to benefit local charities. From May through August, the concerts will be the last Saturday of each month. Twenty percent of the bar will be donated to the featured charity.  Additional money for the charities may be donated at the Grandview Public Market’s vendors point-of-sale.

Jupiter’s Abacoa is hosting their monthly Food Truck Invasion this Friday night in their Downtown Area. On select Friday nights, Food Trucks line up along Town Center Drive to offer some of their best and authentic dishes.

The Food Trucks come from all over South Florida and feature a variety of food ranging to tacos, burgers, pastries, ice cream, Asian, Italian, specialty dishes, Cuban, and much more.
