The Jensen Beach Pineapple Festival is in its 28th year history this weekend, November 13 -15, 2015.  The festival is one of the remaining few true street festivals in South Florida and one of the largest!  The weekend of festivities acknowledges the “community’s rich pineapple heritage.”

John Lawrence Jensen, of Denmark, arrived to the area in 1881.  He set up his plantation and began cultivating and farming pineapples. This area became known as the Town of Jensen. By 1894, Henry Flagler’s Florida East Coast Railway, reached the Town of Jensen.  Fresh pineapple shipments were loaded directly onto the freight cars and sent north.   The 19th century Town of Jensen revolved around pineapple farming and was known as the “Pineapple Capital of the…

Diner en Blanc is a global mass “chic picnic” event, in a public space, spanning five continents.  It is an elegant “flash mob" gathering of diner guests, dressed formally in all white, participating in the refined elegance of Parisian days by gone. The guest list is limited, refined diners are invited or must have previously signed up; location is top secret and not divulged until the day of the Diner en Blanc (generally, one hour prior to the dining hour).

On Friday, Admirals Cove held their annual U.S. Open Local Qualifying Tournament, where golfers looked to start their journey of making it to the U.S. Open.

84 golfers teed it up at the Jupiter club and five advanced to the next round of qualifying with Beon Yeong Lee of Canada earning Medalist honors. Lee shot a 64 to win the qualifier by two shots. Brett Stegmaier of Vero Beach and Ken Looper of Mandeville, LA tied for second, both shooting 66s. Armando Zarlenga of Argentina and Santiago Gavino of Austin, TX earned the final two spots with rounds of 67 and winning a 10 for 2 playoff. Should any of them not be able to compete in sectional qualifying, Brady Watt of Australia and Robbie Greenwell are the alternates.

New Movie Theater in Jupiter

The Shoppes of Jupiter, across from the fabulous Harbourside Place, has finally set an inaugural date for the brand new Cinépolis Cinémas in the summer, which was previously known as Paragon Jupiter Cinéma, located on US 1 in Jupiter, Florida.

The new Cinépolis Cinémas is planning on being fully functional and opened by June 2015. The brand new movie theater will consist of about 1,460 available seats and will be having two distinctive concepts for customers to choose from. One concept is going to be offering eight chic but still traditional customary auditoriums with non –reclining leather seats that will be wider than the old-fashioned movie seats.
