Twilight Yoga at The Light: Monday, August 24th and Monday, August 31st

Tonight, and next Monday, the Lighthouse is hosting their weekly Twilight Yoga at the Light event. Come and enjoy the serenity of Yoga on the Lighthouse Deck and watch the sunset over the water.  All levels are yoga are welcomed to attend the class. The class is $10 dollars per person and registration is required online due to the popularity of the class and class limit. Attendees are asked to bring their own yoga mat and water bottle and meet 10 minutes prior to the class start time at the Museum. The Town of Jupiter and City of Palm Beach Gardens have teamed up together for a new virtual fitness challenge called Ignite the Fight. The virtual challenge allows North County residents to get outside and stay active and healthy with some friendly competitions all while support a good cause.

Ignite the Fight challenges our communities to compete a 5K or 3.1 miles of running, walking, hiking, swimming, or rowing anywhere and anytime during the month of October. Registration for the event is now open to reserve your space in the virtual event.

Amazon is coming to Jupiter, the large company with millions of goods announced this week that they are planning on building a giant fulfillment center in northern Palm Beach County. The online shopping giant plans to build a one million square foot facility and the new facility will create hundreds of new full-time jobs.

The new Jupiter location will be Amazon’s third fulfillment center in Palm Beach County. The company announced last month of building a delivery station in Boca Raton and last year, Amazon opened their 96,000 square foot delivery warehouse west of the turnpike in West Palm Beach.  In addition to the news of the new Jupiter location, Amazon announced that the online company plans on opening a retail store in The Gardens Mall.

This August, The Loggerhead Marinelife Center located in Juno Beach hosts their daily Public Evening Guided Tours. The tours are offered every night and take visitors on an after-hours tour of the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center. Visitors will get an up-close opportunity to see the Marinelife and sea turtles housed in the center.

The Public Evening Guided Tours are open to the public and all are welcomed to attend. The tours last approximately an hour long. The tours are led by the educational experts and staff of the Marinelife Center to answer all of your questions about the sea turtles and Marinelife.

Today, Tuesday, August 18th is Election Day in Florida. Voters area heading to the polls to cast their votes for Florida’s Primary Election.

The Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Office said that her office is doing everything they can to keep the poll workers and the voters safe. Voters will need to cast their votes in their assigned precincts, will also have to wear a mask and bring his or her own pen to cast their votes, in addition to the normal photo ID with a valid signature.

Other safety precautions are being put in place such as hand washing stations and hand sanitizer. Gloves and a mask if you do not have one will be provided to voters.

Every night throughout the month of August, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center hosts their Hatchling Release program.

The program is a unique experience that gives the public an insight and a chance to learn about the hatching and nesting process of sea turtles. The nightly program is an after-hours program and begins at 8 pm every night during the month.

The night begins where visitors can view the center’s current sea turtle patients in their outdoor Sea Turtle Hospital, followed by a trip down to the beach to see a Marinelife staff member release a sea turtle hatchling into the ocean.

The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse is a popular destination for locals and visitors. The iconic red lighthouse sits on top of a midden shell mound on the northern side of the Jupiter Inlet. The location was chosen in 1853 when Congress authorized the construction of the lighthouse tower. The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse is located between the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse to the north and the Hillsboro Inlet Lighthouse to the south.  This year the Lighthouse celebrated its 160th Anniversary in July and had a huge celebration to celebrate the milestone.
