If you’re from the Jupiter area, you probably have many childhood memories splashing around the shallow lagoon of DuBois Park. Some of the best family time of my childhood was spent searching for crabs, attempting to catch small fish with a toy net in the mangroves, and eating grilled hotdogs on the warm sand.

While the unique estuary is a joy to explore, there is also a rich history behind DuBois Park. At the top of the “Indian mound”, a large pile of mollusk shells built by indigenous Native Americans, in the center of the park is a house made of Florida pine that was once home to early Florida pioneers, Harry and Susan DuBois. Harry bought 18 acres south of the Jupiter Inlet that he had long admired for its ridge of Indian shell mound, and he needed…

Established in 1935 by the West Palm Beach Fishing Club, the Silver Sailfish Derby is the oldest running sailfish tournament in the world. Limited to 50 boats, the 2020 Derby is sold out.

The Derby features a two-day, Thursday & Friday, fishing format - a measure that was taken to avoid competition with weekend anglers and to foster increased tournament participation.

The 2020 Schedule of Events are as follows:

As we ring in 2020, we reflect on a turbulent year helping our friends at Old Bahama Bay rebuild after Hurricane Dorian. Winner’s Circle Charities was the first organization cleared by the President of OBB to arrive at the docks, and swiftly organized donation drop-off locations, sponsored Costco trips, and secured hundreds of boats to respond to the needs of families and friends in the Bahamas. Rest assured, OBB is back and better than ever! If it wasn’t for the Winner’s Circle Charities Fishing Tournament every year, Winner’s Circle Charities would not have had the immediate resources available to facilitate such a timely response, so thank you so much to all of the teams and sponsors who participate every single year!

Riverbend Park is a 680-acre preserve in Jupiter and is an ideal destination for hikers who want a taste of the wilds of Southeast Florida without getting their feet wet. More than 15 miles of interconnected trails and roads make up the trail network. The hiking trails are engineered, broad walkways of compacted limestone. Signage and kiosks make it nearly impossible to get lost. It’s nature, tamed, making it accessible to city dwellers who’d otherwise never take a hike.

The park is open sunrise to one hour before sunset daily. Strollers are welcome. Trails, which are fortified with crushed Limerock, are shared with bicycles. The equestrian trails afford a more natural surface. There are portable toilets at several spots within the park. An…
