fort lauderdale fishing tournament
The Sailfish Challenge has rapidly developed as one of the most widespread and perhaps the largest Sailfish tournaments in the nation. The Sailfish Challenge is returning for another competition starting on February 5-8, 2015 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The Sailfish Challenge is so distinctive because it permits fishermen to check in and out of any of the three dissimilar South Florida inlets such as Lake Worth Inlet in Palm Beach, Government Cut in Miami and Hillsboro Inlet in Pompano…

winter boating
This beautiful South Florida winter was a tad bit warmer than it usually is and motor boaters didn’t let the occasion drift on by. Not only because of the vast amount of sunshine, the great fishing, or the calming seas but because the gas prices are at a low! For boaters, the rate of engine friendly non-ethanol gas has reduced!

“According to Waterwayguide.com reports, prices for non-ethanol gas at Florida east coast marinas either stayed the same or dipped. The average drop was .35 cents per gallon from January 12-23 alone. The lowest price, $3.20 per gallon, was found at city-owned Hollywood Marina.” Boaters in South Florida are fond of those numbers! The true boaters don’t let a buck in the price of fuel influence them from a gorgeous day with friends and…

Today, Monday February 2, 2015 was the official day for the world’s most adored, seasonal forecaster, the groundhog. Groundhog Day has come and our furry friend has decided to give us six more weeks of winter.

Pennsylvania’s most famous groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil appeared from his burrow early this morning where he saw his shadow, thus giving us an additional six weeks of winter. Last year, Phil popped up and showed his shadow again which was what some people called “the final nail in the coffin” marking one of the harshest and longest winters in U.S. history. In many parts of the U.S. the 2014 winter dragged on well into March.

The annual Groundhog Day predictions have been in practice in American culture since 1887. Groundhog Day originated…
