Manatees are large, herbivorous marine mammals also known as sea cows.  Their bodies taper to a flat, paddle like tail.  They have two forelimbs, called flippers, with three to four nails on each flipper.  Their head and face are furrowed with whiskers on the snout.

The manatee needs warmth when surrounding water temperatures drop below 68 degrees.  The Florida manatee lives in brackish, salt and fresh water coastal areas around Florida, such as Stuart, Jupiter, Delray and Boca Raton.  The plant eating mammal surfaces every three to five minutes to…

Artificial reefs provide habitat for many species and supplement the function of our natural reefs that are increasingly pressured as the boating population in Northern Palm Beach County continues to expand. Our growing population causes our natural reefs to decline, millions and millions of spawned reef fish eggs float away in the current, only to perish for lack of habitat to grow and mature in.

Artificial reefs are man made underwater structures that promote marine life.  They are an excellent way to enhance marine life in open barren areas.  Palm Beach County became involved in the artificial reef program in the 1960"s.  The first artifical reef  created was the east of Palm Beach consisting of a 165' Navy Patrol Craft, a 185' private yacht,…

Tiger Woods finished in a tie for last place in his return to competitive golf after a four month absence but found plenty of reasons to be optomistic heading into 2015.

For starters, Woods was able to tee it up for the first time since the PGA Championship in August and play four consecutive rounds. You have to go all the way back to the Open Championship in July to find the last time he played all four rounds in a golf tournament.

In addition, he had four days worth of opportunites to work on his swing changes in compeition that he had made since parting ways with Sean Foley and bringing on consultant Chris Como.

"I made some progress," Woods said. "I hadn't played in four months and I'm in absolutely no pain, which is nice. To be able to go…
