Things to do with kids in Boca Raton, FL
Boca Raton is a fun city with lots of things to do with kids!
Boomers
Boomers is a family fun location filled with a variety of rides, games, and entertainment for people of all ages. Some of the exciting things to do include batting cages, miniature golf, go karts, bumper boats, laser tag, rock wall, and game room. Laser tag is especially fun, as visitors are transported into a dark room filled with smoke in a maze-like setting and must “shoot” the other team in order to gain points. As far as the game room, which some argue is the major draw of Boomers, there’s horseracing, dancing, snowboarding, and more. Collect tickets to earn prizes.
Children’s Science Explorium
Children’s Science Explorium, situated in Sugar Sand Park, is a science center catering to children ages 5-12 years old in Boca Raton. There are two kinds of exhibits at the Explorium: those that stay year-round and those that appear for only a few months out of the year, then resume their trek around the country. There are usually 2 to 3 of these exhibits throughout the year. The Science Explorium also throws an excellent birthday party for youngsters, engaging in a chosen theme such as Jurassic-Tastic Birthday Quest, Birthday Gack Attack, and Pirate Party. These usually run about an hour and can accommodate up to 15 people.
Chuck E Cheese
Chuck E Cheese, located in West Palm Beach, is a family fun center where “a kid can be a kid.” One of the great things about Chuck E Cheese is that admission is free, so visitors only have to pay for rides, food, and games. There are a variety of games for every age group, including a Toddler Zone, Kiddie Area, and Skill Games & Arcades. Chuck E Cheese proudly uses the Kid Check Program, which is a hand stamp that is given the moment kids walk through the door. This stamp is then verified as kids leave, in order to ensure that families who arrive together also leave together. After all the games are over and tickets have been won, kids can flock over to the prize area and pick out their favorite, based on the number of tickets they’ve won.
Boca Children’s Museum
The Boca Children’s Museum is an indoor play area for kids, designed to foster the imagination through different themed stations. Families will delight in exhibits, family-oriented special events, a 4-week summer camp known as Adventure in the Arts, and Ricketts Corner Store, which replicates an actual grocery store where kids are able to push grocery carts and go shopping. Another area is KidsCents Bank, which is designed after a real bank and allows kids to use their imaginations as they become tellers and customers. There’s also a play Post Office where children can mail letters, an art and science exhibit, a miniature Theater with hand puppets, a kitchen, pirate ship, and more.
Sugar Sand Park
Sugar Sand Park is a 132-acre park that houses the Children’s Science Explorium, Willow Theater, and Field House with an indoor gymnasium. There is also a beautiful carousel for kids to enjoy, operating from 10am to 7pm on weekdays and 10am to 5pm on weekends, as well as a popular playground that opens at 8am and closes at sunset. Sugar Sand Park holds many events, including Art’s Spark Kids Fest in February, which features face painting, airbrush tattoos, food vendors, workshops, performances, and more. Other events include movies, storytelling, and art-related exhibits. For those with birthdays coming up, Sugar Sands Park does a superb job at themed birthday parties, anything from robot building to designing your own comic book full of superheroes.
