Taco Tuesday is a customary day in many US towns and cities. The day consists of going out to your local Mexican restaurants and enjoying some of the best tacos and taco specials in the area.

The idea came about in 1989 when a Wyoming-based fast food restaurant Taco John’s was granted the trademark to use the term ‘Taco Tuesday’. Many people and restaurants believed to have used the name earlier. After years of the name and popularity of the idea, many local restaurants and food chains caught on and made if an official thing in 2016. Today, fast food chains and local Mexican restaurants offer special dining and drink deals on Taco Tuesday.

Following the restaurant’s success in their Delray Beach location, Elisabetta’s Ristorante, Bar, and Pizzeria has opened a second location on the waterfront in downtown West Palm Beach. The waterfront restaurant opened to the public yesterday.

The new 300-seat, 10,000 square foot restaurant located on Banyan Boulevard overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway features ample open-air seating, a pair of gold tiled Neapolitan pizza ovens, wooden beam ceilings, multi-level patios, a fireplace, a full-size bocce court, a salami bar made from Calacatta marble, and other luxurious amenities.

Over the weekend, Downtown Delray Beach and the city’s Downtown Development Authority transformed Old School Square into a pop-up dining area. The new outdoor dining area is called “Distanced Dining in the Park”.

The new pop-up area allows people to take out from local downtown Delray Beach restaurants and head to Old School Square for outdoor dining.  People can pick up their food and drinks and safety eat in a socially distanced and open-air area.

The open-air dining area is equipped with hand washing stations and hand sanitizer stations and is filled with outdoor music and lighting. The area can and tables set up, can seat up to 80 people.
