Diwali is India’s biggest and most significant holiday of the year. Diwali, the festival of lights, which is celebrated on the New Moon Day in the Hindu month of Kartik, is just around the corner. The festival gets its name from the row of clay lamps that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects them from spiritual obscurity. Over the centuries, Diwali has become a national celebration.
