As they say, actions speak louder than words, and wrapping your arms around another is one of life's great pleasures. As a result, this physical expression of love and support is allocated the recognition it deserves on National Hugging Day, observed this year on Friday, January 21, 2022. A hug is a noun and defined as an act of holding someone tightly in one's arms, typically to express affection. Show someone in Southeast Florida that you care.

January 21 was chosen because it was the time between the holiday season and the new year. It was observed that there is a period in which people tend to feel low in spirits. It was hoped that National Hugging Day would catch on although they never actually thought it would catch on.
