It will be October in a few days and fall is slowly creeping into the Jupiter area.  Which means several things; the weather becomes idyllic, the holidays are right around the corner, and October is “Breast Cancer Awareness Month”. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women, second only to skin cancer. According to the 2019 U.S. Breast Cancer Statistics issued by Breastcancer.org an estimated 268,600 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S., along with 62,930 new cases of non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer. About 2,670 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in men in 2019.

Breast Cancer Awareness month is here! Below are events happening in Palm Beach County where you can don your best pink outfit for a cause.

Real Men Wear Pink Concert | October 12th, 6-9 pm

Jupiter Medical Center is partnering with the Abacoa Food Truck Invasion to go pink for Breast Cancer Awareness Month at Abacoa Town Center. The event will feature live music, breast health information, giveaways, raffle prizes, face painting, and balloon sculpting, as well as food for purchase from local food trucks.

Pitch for the Cure | October 13, 8 am – 11 pm

At Lake Catherine Park in Palm Beach Gardens and hosted by PBGYAA, this youth softball tournament raised $7,000 last year. For more information, go HERE.

This Sunday, August 26th from noon-2 p.m. is Cycle for the Cure at the CycleBar in Palm Beach Gardens.

The event is a fundraiser for Komen South Florida, an organization whose efforts to provide breast health education, screening and treatment in the South Florida community and research to find a cure for breast cancer.

Wear pink to show support and get ready to have a good time with some high energy spinning to some upbeat music. There will be friendly competitions and prizes and healthy snacks too. 

The cost is $50 per individual, $200 per team of four or $500 for an elite team of four. Here's how your participation will help:
