Sun, surf and skating! Skaters can ride the 1.5 mile promenade of Fort Lauderdale Beach, which lines the beach while they take in the sights and sounds of the beach shore. It is located on A1A between Las Olas and Sunrise Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301.
Voted among the top ten places to skate by Rollerblade, Inc., Greater Fort Lauderdale offers plenty sidewalk cafes, restaurants and bars, shops and entertainment facilities which is all located along the promenade to replenish or people watch after a skate, and the seven miles of beach may tempt you to take a dip and cool off in the beautiful blue Atlantic Ocean.
In addition to its picture perfect beach front promenade, Fort Lauderdale offers numerous programs, activities and services which encourage safe and law abiding skating. In fact, Fort Lauderdale was the first city in the world to utilize a uniformed police officer on inline skate and began regular patrols of the beaches.

Fort Lauderdale is also home to the New River Rollers, one of the largest and most progressive inline skate clubs in the country. Founded in October 1992, the New River Rollers are a registered non-profit organization with an active membership of more than 500, which hosts an array of inline skating activities and events throughout the year. The New River Rollers are also active in a number of civic and charitable endeavors for organizations including the American Lung Association, American Cancer Society, United Way and the Fort Lauderdale Employee Memorial Fund.
