Snorkeling in Jupiter
The clear, warm Atlantic waters of Jupiter are perfect for snorkeling. Being home to many artificial and natural reefs, the area draws sea creatures that are popular amongst snorkelers.
Jupiter provides great snorkeling for boaters and non-boaters in the ocean and throughout the many parks in the area. The marine life ranges from colorful fish, string rays, dolphin pods, jelly fish and more. When snorkeling it’s important to wear protective gear and water shoes to help protect yourself against sea creatures that can sting.
Dubois Park, provides a large beachfront area that is relaxing to snorkel in. The coral, located south of the lifeguarded swimming area, is swarming with fish. Also, keep a look out for manatees, that have been spotted several times under the docks.
Carlin Park, is very popular among snorkelers. With a large variety of colorful fish, those can snorkel roughly 50 feet out still in the swimming area and find a reef full of underwater rocks, blue angels, butterfly fish, sting rays and more.
Peanut Island, accessible by water taxi or boat is a popular snorkeling spot with a large variety of tropical creatures. The area known for butterfly fish, lobster, yellow tangs, jelly fish, sting rays, as well as other colorful fish and fish of all sizes.
Blowing Rocks Preserve, great for snorkeling due to the limestone rocks that offers fish plenty of hiding spots. Your chances of seeing a unique seas creature are high here because the wildlife and beauty is protected in this sanctuary.
Other locations perfect for snorkeling include Coral Cove Park, where purple eel, loggerhead turtles, nurse sharks and barracuda have all been spotted.
