REEL FISHING REPORT 3.27.15
3.27.15 Fishing Report
One more shot at the South Florida “winter” is projected to swift through the weekend. A cool front will be pushing in while bringing in breezy conditions. These are ideal conditions for our beauitful Sailfish, for those willing to take on the rougher conditions.
OFFSHORE-
Sailfish could be traveling around the Palm Beach and Jupiter Inlet within 100-300 feet of water. Dolphin should be cruising around the same depths as the sails and in really nice sizes too. Springtime catches within South Florida include cobia, kingfish and blackfin tuna. Bottom fishing anglers have reeled in yellowtail, mangrove as well as mutton snappers. According to Juno Bait and Tackle, “South tide and green water later this week had the snapper fishing a little off. As soon as good north current and clean water sets back in look for the snapper fishing to really fire up.”
INSHORE-
Snook fishing has been good this week during the day and at night time. Snook can be found along the seawalls and around the docks during the day, eating mullet. Around the bridges, they are known hooked up on swim baits, small jigs and shrimp. At night, they enjoy hanging around the dock lights. “MacArthur State Park is still holding some fish for those getting out and wading or fishing in the kayak. The footbridge has some nice sheepshead and a few drum hanging around the pilings, usually willing to eat a live shrimp.” The flats are still holding a large mixed bag of fish.
Tip: With the rainfall, it may be a good option to fish near the spillways!
Good Luck this weekend everyone!
