New Tapas Restaurant Coming To West Palm Beach

A fun new tapas restaurant is coming West Palm Beach. The small-plate Spanish cuisine, Basque is set to open this Thursday, March 22nd at the historic Hotel Bida in the El Cid neighborhood. 

Hotel Bida is an historic inn built in 1929 by the famous architect Belford Shoumate and is an example of Bermuda Vernacular architecture. The hotel is one of the earliest motor lodges in the United States and has been included in the National Register of Historic Places. The restaurant is part of an effort to reestablish the boutique hotel as a perfect destination for locals and out of town visitors.

Basque will feature both indoor and outdoor space with an Old-World décor and modern Spanish food. The executive Chef of Basque, Chef Miguel Angel Rebolledo served as the executive chef to celebrity chef Jose Andres’, helped to open several Spanish gastro pubs in Tampa and Miami, and cooked under the visionary chef Ferran Adria at El Bulli on Spain’s Costa Brava.

At Basque, the food will be prepared out of a state of the art 22-foot mobile kitchen. The food truck is parked outside their outdoor dining area and elegant 4,000 square foot courtyard. The restaurant project took a few months to complete and is housed where the hotel’s nightclub used to be. Basque transformed the old space and now features polished beams, Spanish tile, retractable covers, and chic chandeliers in the historic El Cid neighborhood.

The menu features items such as Galician and Catalan style breads, cured meats, sharing dishes, saffron, paellas, seafood, salads, tapas, vegan meals, and much more. The restaurant will also have a full bar serving hand-crafted cocktails, sangria, and Palm Beach County’s exclusive restaurant to serve Spain’s Estrella beer.

Basque opens this Thursday March 22nd at Hotel Bida in West Palm Beach. The restaurant is open for dinner Wednesday through Saturday from 5 pm to 10 pm and brunch on Saturday 11 am to 3 pm and Sunday 11 am to 5 pm.

Basque is located at 320 Belvedere Road in West Palm Beach.
