Two Palm Beach County cities have made the list of the “10 Best Places to Visit” done by Livability.com. Livability.com is a website that showcases some of the best cities to visit and live throughout the country. The website ranked more than 2,000 cities across the United States and both Boca Raton and Jupiter were ranked in the Top 10. Boca Raton and Jupiter were also the only two Florida cities to have made the list.

Jupiter is ranked number five and Boca Raton is ranked number seven. The website ranked the cities based on their relaxing and adventurous attractions in both cities.

The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach is hosting their 15th Annual TurtleFest 2018 this upcoming Saturday, March 24th. More than 10,000 visitors are expected to attend the free ocean conservation festival from 10 am to 6 pm.

The festival will include food, specialty drinks and craft beers, live music, yoga, a beach cleanup, educational and fun activities, shopping, sea turtles and much more. At the festival you’ll have a change to visit the sick or injured sea turtles located in the Loggerhead Marinelife Center.

The local and popular Rapids Water Park is opening this Saturday, March 10th for the summer season. Rapids is the largest water park in all of South Florida with 30 acres of fun for everyone in the family.

Rapids Water Park features 35 water slides ranging from all levels of intensity. Some of the raft style slides can fit up to six people at a time. Sea Turtle Nesting Season begins this week, and the experts at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach are hoping to have another record-breaking season.

The nesting season last 8 months, starting this Thursday, March 1st until October 31st. Last year was the best year to date since the Loggerhead Marinelife Center began several years ago, and the center is hoping for an even better year this season. 

Along the sandy coastline in north Palm Beach County, thousands of sea turtles lie eggs in the sand. The nests usually contain about 100 eggs each that requires 45 to 60 days before they start hatching. Making this area one of the most populated sea turtle nesting locations in the world.

The Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and Museum is hosting its third annual Sea Fest For Kids. The event is Saturday, February 24th from 11 am to 5 pm at the lighthouse in Jupiter.

The family friendly event will feature sea-inspired adventures and educational activities for the kids to celebrate Jupiter’s coastal history and heritage. Important characters from Jupiter’s past, mermaids, and real pirates will be there too to celebrate on the waterfront. There will also be a pirate and mermaid costume contest.
