A holiday-time event that is unique to Southern Florida is the Boat Parade. All throughout southern Florida’s waterways local boat owners decorate their vessels with millions of lights to celebrate the holiday season. The glistening boats line up and parade throughout the waterways for local spectators to watch. This year is the 45th Annual Boynton Beach Boat Parade.

This year and for the past 23 years, the Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County (MIAPBC) hosts its annual Palm Beach Holiday Boat Parade. Where residents and neighbors decorate their boats with holiday lights, decorations, holiday music, and of course some holiday cheer.

A fun and family friendly event for people of all ages happening December 2nd in the evening is a two-hour kayak and paddleboard tour at the Jupiter Inlet Aquatic Preserve. The tour begins before dusk so you can cruise leisurely through the Intracoastal Waterway as the sunsets and the stars come out.

The town of Lake Worth, known for the public display of art and hipster vibes hosts a series of beach bonfires throughout the Florida “wintertime”.

Start packing the smoke kits, comfortable blankets, chairs, and s’mores ingredients to meet up with friends and enjoy a nice relaxing beach party by the fire and under the stars. The bonfire event has been a Lake Worth tradition since the late 1990’s.

Loggerhead MarineLife Center, a staple to our community, is home to the many sea turtles that inhabit our beaches. The center undertakes long term research to rehabilitate and conserve the various sea turtle species, as well as educate the public on how they can help protect the sea turtles.

The center has grown in popularity among the locals, with its state of the art facility that is free and open to the public, seven days a week.

This November, Fort Lauderdale is hosting their 58th Annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
